This year, I wanted to simplify things a bit... it was just the two of us and after checking the freezer, the fridge and the pantry, I realized we had enough on hand and with just a little bit of work, we could have a nice little appetizer meal for our New Year's Eve menu without having to make a town run...and I am so glad, since later I heard that town (and traffic) was crazy yesterday.
I wanted to use the blue tablecloth made and sent to me by a friend in Florida and I have a fairly large collection of cobalt glass items I enjoy mixing with white and silver for a New Year's Eve celebration look...nothing fancy...
Lantern is one that belonged to a friend who is no longer with us...it was originally his grandmother's...I got two of them and prize them dearly.

There is a tradition among Cubans to eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight. We didn't last to midnight but we did have the grapes!
Just a sampling... by the way, the onion jam, which was a gift sent by my sister, works great with the crackers, cream cheese and smoked salmon!
As New Year's Eve goes, ours was pretty tame...quiet, nice, delicious and very safe!
Hoping everyone's 2015 is the best year ever!
Happy New Year!
Feliz Año Nuevo!
