Did you know that the Wailea-Hakalau FoodSHARE (Farmers Market) is happening every Tuesday on the grassy edge in front of Hakalau Veterans’ Park?
Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. or until the FoodSHARE Band is pau!
This is just a couple of miles from our house in Wailea Village, on the Old Mamalahoa Road between Kolekole Beach Park and Chin Chuck Rd - Halakau Intersection.
Music, produce, flowers, eggs, honey, goat cheese and much more!
Several vendors sell prepared foods...just bring your containers from home or use their styro containers...I'd rather bring mine from home and help keep our 'aina green!
Our next door neighbor is selling microgreens and we bought some..nice, zippy taste and only $3 the container...she also had star fruit and lovely avocadoes.
Sexy Pink Heliconia and Pink Torch Gingers....lots of lemons and limes...apparently trees are loaded right now.
I found FIGS!!! Got a carton for $5 and several other vendors also had avocadoes...this year seems to be one for bumper crops!
More avocadoes and several vendors had beautiful rambutan... The veggie rolls looked delicious, but we had planned our dinner already, otherwise I would have bought some...maybe next week! and the eggplants and Dragon Fruit were also gorgeous!
We bought limes, microgreens, lamb chops, figs and one vendor was selling some Japanese porcelain dishes...of course I had to get some...but I was good...only got two sushi trays and 2 really cute little square porcelain bowls. You'll probably see them in a blog post soon...
Bring your bags...and if wanting to pick up something already cooked to take home for dinner, bring recyclable containers!
They also have a Facebook page...
