On my way home from a meeting down in lower Puna yesterday, I made a little detour to Rozett's Nursery to see what was available in the 'edible world of plants' that I didn't have and also was looking for a fast and low spreading ground cover for a particular small area in the garden...
Bought some Bok-choy and Donna Rozett suggested a very low and tight growing portulaca for the ground cover...I also got a few pots of a different variety of portulaca somewhere else a few days ago and will be mixing both varieties for a different 'patchwork' look.
Today, I have already planted the Bok-choy (running out there in between showers this morning) in the pig trough and will have to wait to plant the portulaca until I can spread some soil in between and around the stepping stones where I need the ground cover.
Little by little..I'm getting there!
